A little more than three years ago, Georgia Congressman Austin Scott (R-GA-08) began a push to modernize the Commodity Futures Trading Commission by introducing legislation that he said would bridge the gap between the nation’s commodity trading market regulator and 21st century financial technologies. Late last week, Scott teamed with Congresswoman Stacey Plaskett (D-V.I.) in introducing bipartisan legislation that was almost identical to his previous bill.
