After a two year hiatus due to COVID, the legendary St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Savannah is back this Thursday, with festivities to continue through the weekend.  Savannah is home to one of the nation’s largest St. Patrick’s Day celebrations in the U.S., bringing in hundreds of thousands of revelers who fill hotels, restaurants, and most notably bars.  The week actually kicked off Friday with the traditional ‘greening’ of the Forsyth Park Fountain, but the party will come to a head with the parade, which follows a traditional Catholic Mass at the Cathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist.  The parade will then weave through the streets of historic downtown Savannah, with thousands of residents and tourists lining the city’s streets to catch a glimpse of one of the city’s oldest and most popular traditions.
