Georgia’s newest economic development ‘Megasite’ will be in Peach County, in Middle Georgia, according to an announcement from Gov. Brian Kemp last week. The 1,100-acre economic development site was purchased as part of a partnership between the State of Georgia and the Development Authority of Peach County. The Middle Georgia Megasite follows in the footsteps of the Bryan County Megasite, outside of Savannah. The Middle Georgia edition boasts its proximity to major trucking lanes, the world’s busiest airport in Hartsfield-Jackson just to the north, and a direct line to burgeoning Port of Savannah. It will offer rail service as well, making it an attractive landing spot for prospective manufacturers.
