The Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC) is coming out strongly against the Democratic nominee for Georgia’s Secretary of State — Bee Nguyen. The RSLC announced Wednesday that it is launching a new ad campaign emphasizing how Nguyen’s anti-law enforcement record makes her too radical for Georgia. This is the first independent expenditure the RSLC is making in a secretary of state race anywhere in the country in 2022.

A spokesperson for the RSLC said that this six-figure ad buy demonstrates the committee’s commitment to protecting its incumbents who are working to make it easier to vote and harder to cheat in their states and pushing back against the Democrats’ federal takeover of our elections system.

The 15-second spot will be backed by a $125,000 digital buy and exposes how Nguyen – a state Representative — has called police “murderers,” voted against legislation to support law enforcement, and is endorsed by groups that want to defund the police.

This past May after the Primary, the RSLC stated that re-electing Republican incumbent Brad Raffensperger was the top priority for its efforts in secretary of state races this cycle. At that time, RSLC President Dee Duncan was quoted as saying, “National Democrats are ramping up their investments in secretary of state races across the country as they seek to dismantle democracy by handing control of our elections to D.C. instead of the states, and Georgia will be central to their effort. The RSLC is determined to stop them by making Georgia’s secretary of state race a top priority for the committee in 2022. Brad Raffensperger has been a principled leader in the effort to make it easier to vote and harder to cheat in Georgia and his victory tonight proves he has what it takes to win a tough election. The RSLC congratulates Secretary Raffensperger on securing the Republican nomination and looks forward to supporting him in his effort to save Georgia from the radical left’s plot to change the rules of our elections to compensate for their failing liberal agenda that voters are rejecting.”

With the release of the new ad Duncan said, “Bee Nguyen’s anti-law enforcement record makes clear that she is too radical to be Georgia’s secretary of state and that she stands with national liberals instead of the people of Georgia.”

The RSLC is the largest organization of Republican state leaders in the country and the only national committee whose mission is to elect Republicans to multiple down-ballot, state-level offices in all 50 states.

The transcript for the ad is as follows:

NARRATOR: Why is Bee Nguyen supported by groups that want to defund our police? Nguyen voted against a bill to protect law enforcement and tweeted “police are responsible rampant misconduct, and murder.” Think Bee Nguyen shares your values? Think again.
