Hyundai’s sprawling, $5.54 billion electric vehicle plant in Bryan County near Savannah only just broke ground, but it’s already drawing investment into neighboring counties in the region. Joon Georgia, a subsidiary of Ajin USA, which makes vehicle parts and electronics, announced it will open its own U.S. factory in Bulloch County in order to be near the new EV plant. The $317 million facility will bring more than 600 jobs with it by the time it’s finished in 2024. Gov. Brian Kemp and state economic leaders praised the news, calling it the first of many more to come following the state’s record-breaking $1.8 billion in tax incentives that helped lure Hyundai to south Georgia.
