A year ago, InsiderAdvantage covered Andre Dickens being sworn in as Atlanta’s 61st mayor. Now a little more than a year into his administration, Dickens gave his State of the City address on Tuesday.

The address comes as tension between state government and the City of Atlanta has markedly cooled since the icy relationship between former Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms and the Republicans who run the Georgia Capitol. Gov. Brian Kemp has praised Dickens for his efforts to combat crime and had planned to be at the speech Tuesday but was visiting the communities devastated by last weekend’s tornadoes.
