The Georgia GOP has a new chairman. Former State Senator Josh McKoon won the three-man race in one ballot Saturday as more than 2,700 state delegates cast their vote at the 2023 State Convention in Columbus. McKoon pulled in 54 percent of the vote in the first round of voting over challengers Rebecca Yardley and Dennis Futch.
Running his campaign for the party’s top office on the promise of unifying the party, a victorious McKoon stood between Yardley and Futch and raised clasped hands in a show of ‘team spirit.’ He has been traveling the state for the past four months sharing his plan of growing the party and preparing for the upcoming 2024 Presidential election.
