You may have noticed in recent years that more and more establishments of all shapes and sizes are going ‘cashless,’ not accepting cash at all in favor of only taking cards, (or these days digital cards within a cell phone).  But in Atlanta some are pushing back, like Atlanta City Councilmember Antonio Lewis, who has introduced a bill that would ban cashless establishments.  Lewis says cashless stores unfairly disadvantage poorer residents, and particularly minority communities.  Such a law though would have to get approval from the General Assembly and likely receive pushback from the business community, so its odds of passing are DRIFTING…
