You may have noticed in recent years that more and more establishments of all shapes and sizes are going ‘cashless,’ not accepting cash at all in favor of only taking cards, (or these days digital cards within a cell phone). But in Atlanta some are pushing back, like Atlanta City Councilmember Antonio Lewis, who has introduced a bill that would ban cashless establishments. Lewis says cashless stores unfairly disadvantage poorer residents, and particularly minority communities. Proposed Fulton Co. property tax hike
Fulton County homeowners let out a collective groan Monday following the announcement that property taxes will be increasing by more than 12% over the rollback millage rate. The hike, per the over the Fulton County Board of Commissioners, is to increase funding for the 2025 General Fund.
