Georgia House Republicans say they are focused on public safety, backing the blue and “keeping Georgians safe.” Monday, House leaders pointed to recent updates and public safety measures they have addressed over the past few months – including legislation passed during the 2023 session of the Georgia General Assembly.

One of the measures was the creation of Georgia’s new prosecutor oversight commission. While the commission continues to face ongoing legal hurdles, Fulton County Superior Court Judge Paige Reese Whitaker recently allowed Senate Bill 92 to take effect. In a tweet this weekend, the Georgia House Republican Caucus said, “While most prosecutors perform their duties for the people they serve, House Republicans passed this oversight legislation in 2023 to address the actions of those who do not.”
