Normally floods are a bad thing for the city of Columbus, which lies directly up against the Chattahoochee River.  But this month the city is being flooded in a good way – by hundreds of world-class paddlers in town for the 2023 ICF Canoe Freestyle World Championships.  The event draws hundreds of international competitors and their teams to the city’s whitewater center and series of rapids where they will compete for glory in a range of men’s and women’s events.  It is accompanied by the RushSouth Music Festival and Outdoor Games, which brings in food trucks, events, and of course live concerts in Uptown Columbus.
