Winter is the ‘offseason’ for beach towns like Tybee Island, but local officials and business leaders are working to put on events that draw visitors and their wallets during the holiday season.  Last weekend Tybee Island Main Street hosted the second annual Holiday Market, bringing in more than 50 vendors as well as local musicians and performers, and a Christmas tree to be lit as night fell.  The event drew several thousand visitors, even more than its first iteration, leaving local business owners thrilled and looking forward to the island’s second holiday event – the annual Tybee Christmas Parade of Lights scheduled for Dec. 1st.
