A Georgia District Attorney who was hammered by a Federal Judge with tough sanctions after he “accused her of misleading the court in a civil case brought by a former employee” has given notice that she will appeal those sanctions.  According to reports in The Current, Chatham County’s District Attorney Shalena Cook Jones filed her appeal to the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals on Nov. 22 after retaining a new lawyer.

The report indicates that her new attorney, Mark Tate of Tate Law Group, LLC, in Savannah, says the extraordinary 50-page order against her is the fault of the DA’s original lawyers and a politically motivated judge.
