Education seems to be on the minds of lawmakers in the early days of the 2024 Legislation Session. Gov. Brian Kemp set the tone in his remarks at the annual Eggs and Issues breakfast and the State of the State address last week, with his emphasis on education funding and school choice.
On Wednesday, Speaker Jon Burns, R-Newington, and Speaker Pro Tempore Jan Jones, R-Milton, announced recommendations for significant investments in Pre-K education to expand access and increase teacher pay.
