Last Thursday, just before adjournment, the General Assembly voted to ban unverifiable QR-coded votingand improve election transparency by making physical ballots a public record. Passage of SB 189 and HB 974 also mandate improved ballot chain of custody policies to deter ballot trafficking and visible watermarks on all ballotsin order to discover ballot counterfeiting.  

Furthermore, the legislation, which goes to the governor for his signature, requires all absentee voting tabulation to be completed on election night to help prevent post-election ballot box stuffing. An analysis by provides this description:
