With various polls showing former President Donald Trump leading President Joe Biden in Georgia at this stage of the presidential campaign, the Republican candidate yesterday arrived to an excited Hartsfield–Jackson airport crowd to attend a luncheon fundraiser in Atlanta’s Buckhead business community.
Insiders tell James Magazine Online it is expected that – based on the mega donors who are listed on the invitation for the Atlanta event and one for later yesterday in Orlando – a lucrative $15 million will be raised.
As he often does, Trump attacked the “lawfare“ waged against him by Fulton County‘s Democrat District Attorney Fani Willis, who he called “discredited“ with the conflict of interest with her now- resigned former lover who was lead prosecutor against him in a 2020 election lawsuit.
The former president, flanked by Trump-endorsed 3rd District congressional candidate Brian Jack, stopped near Atlanta’s airport to visit a Chick-fil-A restaurant. He mingled with a mainly African-American staff and customers and picked up the tab for everyone’s chicken and milkshakes.
In a video on social media, Trump speaks to the crowd and a woman says, “I don’t care what the media tells you, Mr. Trump. We support you.” He then gives her a hug and onlookers clap, cheer and take pictures.
“It’s a great franchise. The owner is a great man who is a member of one of my clubs,” Trump said at the restaurant. “It’s the Lord’s chicken, you’re right. It’s good chicken too,” Trump said, responding to a man who said it is the “Lord’s chicken.”
Other videos show Trump working the crowd and shaking hands. “Love you man,” one supporter can be heard saying to a happy Trump.
