For Lt. Governor Burt Jones, July 1st marked the culmination of work by lawmakers during the 2024 legislative session — addressing critical issues marked as priority for Jones and members of the State Senate.

“As we reach the summer, it is important for Georgians across the state to be aware that Georgia’s new fiscal year begins on July 1, and several laws impacting our daily lives go into effect,” said Jones. “Many of the state agencies that help with constituent issues across the state may be utilizing new resources, grants or financial assistance for Georgians. Along with new financial opportunities, many laws will go into effect impacting how we live, work and raise our families. I believe it is important for Georgians to be aware, informed and engaged with the work of their state government.”
