The city of LaFayette in northwest Georgia is among six Georgia cities to receive funding as part of the federal Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) grants. Of those grants LaFayette will get the second most money, $6,273,803 to be exact, to fund its Complete Streets initiative along its downtown corridor. The plan calls for sidewalk, lighting, and other upgrades that will increase connectivity and mobility for both residents and visitors to the picturesque Georgia city. Planning and preparation are expected to continue until physical work begins in early 2026.
