Cobb Superior Court Judge Kellie Hill on Thursday ruled that the Cobb Commission maps used in recent primaries are unconstitutional – and must be thrown out, and their elections redone next year. The saga began in 2022 when the Democrat-majority Cobb Commission drew up its own district map for the county, despite that responsibility laying with the state legislature. The City of Atlanta and the Georgia Democratic Party made a strong push to host the 2028 Democratic National Convention, but fell short once again when it was announced that Boston, Denver and Philadelphia are the three finalists.
