U.S. Rep. Lucy McBath was the presumed frontrunner for the Democratic nomination for governor in 2026.  But she decided not to run for the seat in a shock announcement, suspending her exploratory committee to help her husband as he undergoes cancer treatment.  The move leaves a wide open field for Dems, but seemingly not a very deep bench.  Former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms is a rumored name, as is former DeKalb CEO Michael Thurmond and state Sen. Jason Esteves.  Two-time failed gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams could even throw her hat back in the ring.  Democrats are scrambling to find a big time candidate as the 2026 race heats up, leaving them DRIFTING…
