On Monday Gov. Brian Kemp announced that he would be deploying some 75 Georgia National Guard soldiers next month to support Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations in the state. It’s shocking to learn that former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms never became a board member of the Atlanta Regional Commission because she never attended a single ARC board meeting during her tenure. Beyond missing the board meetings, the Democrat also refused to join ARC’s regional leadership visits to other metropolitan areas to examine city planning and technical infrastructure best practices.
