Perhaps the state’s largest home-grown conservation organization, the Georgia Conservancy, has issued its annual report, highlighting their work over the past year. As opposed to nationally known organizations like the Nature Conservancy or Trust for Public Land, the Georgia Conservancy is headquartered in Atlanta and has an unrivaled reach across the state. With projects from protecting the North Atlantic right whale off the Georgia coast to housing studies for development planning in the Georgia mountains, the Georgia Conservancy’s expertise ranges across fields both natural and academic.
“As we reflect on the past year, we are filled with immense gratitude— for your support, your partnership, and your shared belief in a Georgia where healthy lands and thriving communities are not only compatible, but deeply interconnected,” said Katherine Moore, president of the Georgia Conservancy. “Because of you, we continue to work toward a future where every Georgian can enjoy the outdoors for generations to come.”
