A new round of funding is coming to Georgia from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) to assist in the fight against opioids. U.S. Sens. Jon Ossoff and Rafael Warnock announced an even $900,000 will be split an even three ways between Medlink Georgia – a statewide organization with headquarters in Colbert (Madison County east of Athens), New Horizons Community Service Board – based out of Columbus, and the Hospital Authority of Jenkins County – based out of…Jenkins County (south of Augusta, the county seat is Millen).
“Like so many Georgians, I’ve lost friends to the opioid epidemic. These resources, which I’ve secured with bipartisan support, will fund efforts to prevent and treat addiction, save lives, and help address the opioid crisis,” said Ossoff.
