In the wake of the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk at a Utah college, University System of Georgia Chancellor Sonny Perdue says protecting free speech and civil debate on public school campuses remains a vital priority.  “Yesterday’s events reminded me just how important it is to protect civil debate and open dialogue on our campuses,” said Perdue in a statement Thursday.  “As educators, we have a responsibility to ensure that our students, faculty and staff can speak freely and respectfully, without fear of being unlawfully silenced or disrupted.”  In the face of a terrible tragedy, affirming the importance of free speech and civil debate here in Georgia has Kirk’s legacy RISING…
