Judge poised to dismiss Willis’s case against Trump

Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee has had it. In a ruling last Friday, the exasperated judge gave the state Prosecuting Attorneys’ Council (PAC) a 14-day deadline to name a new prosecutor to handle District Attorney Fani Willis’ racketeering case against President Donald Trump and GOP allies who allegedly “conspired” to overturn the 2020 presidential election.

McAfee, who is overseeing the case, said that if no prosecutor is named by the PAC by his deadline, then he will dismiss all charges. (The Georgia Court of Appeals ruled in December to remove Willis and her office from the case over her unethical romantic relationship with her former special prosecutor Nathan Wade. And the state Supreme Court recently declined to hear her appeal.)
