Lt. Gov. Burt Jones provided the opening remarks at Tuesday’s third meeting of the Senate Special Committee on Eliminating Georgia’s Income Tax. Later in the meeting, members heard from local residents and business leaders in Gainesville – the site of the meeting.

“To every Georgian working paycheck to paycheck, we hear you,” said Jones. “When we take money out of your paychecks through the state income tax, it makes it harder for you to get ahead. Georgia is strong because of the people who work hard every day, not because of the government taking more of your paycheck.
