It’s been years in the making, but the first buildings at Rowen, the life sciences campus planned in Gwinnett County, are about ready to break ground. First on the docket is the Rowen Convergence Center, a 10,000 sq.-ft. mixed use development that will serve as an anchor for the community. The Center, which will break ground officially in 2026 and be completed the following year, will include office and meeting space and serve as the community’s ‘living room.’ It will set the stage for Rowen’s master plan of hosting universities and businesses on a life sciences campus that will rival similar locations like the North Carolina Research Triangle. Plans also include residential, a hotel, restaurants, coffee shops and everything else needed for a village to spring to life as one of Georgia’s largest-ever economic development projects.
