A new poll from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution shows that Georgia Democrats are united on one front – pushing back on President Donald Trump. But on just about everything else? Frustration abounds. 90% of likely Democrat voters said they oppose the Trump Administration, but nearly 25% said they have a negative view of their own party. Atlanta Beltline light rail back on the menu?
Many Atlantans were dismayed when Mayor Andre Dickens seemingly tabled the idea of light rail along the Atlanta Beltline, the city’s wildly popular and successful pedestrian path. After all, light rail was a core part of the loop’s original vision, meant to connect the city all around its (eventual) 22-mile loop. But now the Atlanta City Council is pushing back, with 11 councilmembers, led by Atlanta City Councilwoman Kelsea Bond signing onto a resolution signaling support for the idea.
