One candidate who will NOT be appearing on ballots today is former City of Stonecrest Mayor Jason Lary, who was attempting to (illegally) run for city council.  Lary served a chunk of a 57-month sentence in federal prison in 2023 following his 2022 arrest for stealing COVID funds.  Upon getting out of prison early, but still on probation, he applied to run for Stonecrest City Council, affirming via paperwork that he wasn’t a convicted felon.  Oops!  Lary’s candidacy was immediately challenged by several Stonecrest residents, and the DeKalb District Attorney’s office last week rang him up on new charges of making false statements, false registration, and two counts of false swearing.  SINKING…
