Dickens re-elected as Atlanta Regional Commission chair

In a move not unexpected but significant for its unprecedented nature, the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) Board re-elected Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens as chair of its board of directors. The new two-year term will start in January. As the only nominee, Dicken’s chances were strong but he is the first mayor of Atlanta to serve as chair since the commission was founded nearly 80 years ago. 

“I want to thank my fellow board members for their continued support. I am honored to work alongside this group of impactful and innovative leaders to move the Atlanta region forward,” Dickens said. “The next two years will be busy. We have an ambitious agenda ahead to improve quality of life for our region and build a stronger, more competitive economy.”
