A Senate Study Committee on Recovery Residences, tasked with understanding the services recovery residences provide and to recommend possible solutions for improving the safety at recovery residences and the quality of their services, has adopted its final report offering key recommendations to “ensure that recovery residences prioritize optimal service and resident safety over financial gain.”
Created by Senate Resolution 311 during the 2025 Legislative Session, the committee focused on further understanding the services for Georgians utilizing more than 100 certified facilities. Members held five meetings at the State Capitol during the off-session to gather testimony, listen to presentations from subject matter experts and provide recommendations on how to move forward.
