Georgia’s ties to Vietnam growing
Good morning to Georgia’s fastest-growing trade partner – Vietnam! Over the past five years the Port of Savannah’s container trade with the southeast Asian nation has grown by 38%, and there are now nine direct ocean carrier services between Vietnam and Savannah. Chief exports from Georgia include lumber, cotton, and retail goods, while imports are made up of footwear, electronics, and most prominently smart phones: Vietnamese plants supply more than half of Samsung’s global smartphone output.
