Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger finds himself in hot water with the Trump Department of Justice, as Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Harmeet Dhillon says she intends to sue the state because it refuses to hand over voter data, which she’s requested to ensure states are complying with the National Voter Registration Act. “Georgia this week told me to go pound sand, and is not gonna give me their voter data. Atlanta Beltline light rail back on the menu?
Many Atlantans were dismayed when Mayor Andre Dickens seemingly tabled the idea of light rail along the Atlanta Beltline, the city’s wildly popular and successful pedestrian path. After all, light rail was a core part of the loop’s original vision, meant to connect the city all around its (eventual) 22-mile loop.
