As the Atlanta Journal-Constitution ends its print edition to go all digital, it can’t find room (even though there are no space limitations) to retain Christian columnist Patricia Holbrook. She is a compelling writer who covered all aspects of religion for 14 years. The newspaper is filled with political opinion writers (many left-of-center) yet no room for a columnist addressing the important topic of religion? Atlanta Beltline light rail back on the menu?
Many Atlantans were dismayed when Mayor Andre Dickens seemingly tabled the idea of light rail along the Atlanta Beltline, the city’s wildly popular and successful pedestrian path. After all, light rail was a core part of the loop’s original vision, meant to connect the city all around its (eventual) 22-mile loop. But now the Atlanta City Council is pushing back, with 11 councilmembers, led by Atlanta City Councilwoman Kelsea Bond signing onto a resolution signaling support for the idea.
