U.S. Treasurer Brandon Beach is overseeing work on a special $1 commemorative coin to be minted marking America’s 250th anniversary. Several coin designs featuring President Donald Trump were submitted to the Commission of Fine Arts, which just voted to recommend a side profile of his head. The coin’s other side is to have the traditional eagle. Beach is an advisor to both the Commission and U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, who makes the final decision. Atlanta Beltline light rail back on the menu?
Many Atlantans were dismayed when Mayor Andre Dickens seemingly tabled the idea of light rail along the Atlanta Beltline, the city’s wildly popular and successful pedestrian path. After all, light rail was a core part of the loop’s original vision, meant to connect the city all around its (eventual) 22-mile loop.
