A civil suit filed due to Fulton County’s refusal to honor a federal subpoena to release never-before-seen 2020 Fulton County ballots and election records has consequences. On Wednesday the FBI, accompanied by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard (who is interested in data analysis), seized almost 700 boxes of records. Fulton County officials expressed “concern” about the custody of the records but not about any possible fraud. The bottom line: The U.S. Justice Department can finally examine all the data. Atlanta Beltline light rail back on the menu?
Many Atlantans were dismayed when Mayor Andre Dickens seemingly tabled the idea of light rail along the Atlanta Beltline, the city’s wildly popular and successful pedestrian path. After all, light rail was a core part of the loop’s original vision, meant to connect the city all around its (eventual) 22-mile loop. But now the Atlanta City Council is pushing back, with 11 councilmembers, led by Atlanta City Councilwoman Kelsea Bond signing onto a resolution signaling support for the idea.
