Longtime state lawmaker Calvin Smyre is having his 50-year career in public service honored with a special exhibition at his hometown Columbus Museum.  Dubbed The Puzzle of Politics: Calvin Smyre in Service, the exhibit will highlight some of Smyre’s achievements in office, including establishing Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday as a state holiday, as well as his many contributions to the Columbus community.  A distinctive feature of the presentation is in the puzzle motif seen throughout, a nod to Smyre’s personal passion for jigsaw puzzles, a metaphor for his approach to governance—assembling diverse pieces to create a cohesive whole.  The exhibit will run from now until March 1st, so make your plans today!
