The House has given unanimous approval to two bills – one that would allow certain medical facilities to implement newborn safety devices (House Bill 350), and another that would add a step-grandparent and step-grandchild to state law regarding incest (House Bill 57). Both bills were sponsored by Rep. Mike Cameron, R-Rossville, and now move to the Senate.

“I was proud to sponsor both pieces of legislation, and I am incredibly grateful for my House colleagues’ support of these two measures,” said Rep. Cameron. “House Bills 350 and 57 are crucial steps toward protecting Georgia’s children and families. By allowing newborn safety devices, we would give mothers in crisis a safe, anonymous option, while ensuring infants receive immediate care and a path to adoption or foster care.
