Atlanta was a finalist for the 2024 Democratic National Convention, losing out at the last second to Chicago.  But it’s once again in the running for the 2028 convention, and city officials hope they can deliver Georgia’s first DNC since 1988, when Michael Dukakis received his ill-fated nomination.  Georgia has become a pivotal swing state in recent election cycles, and Democrat leaders hope to pitch Atlanta not only as a political battleground – but also as an experienced host city easily capable of putting on a show.  With site visits upcoming and stiff competition from cities like Denver, Philadelphia and Boston, Atlanta officials hope their pitch will have the city’s hosting odds RISING…
