Georgia’s red snapper season extended

For the past 15 years Georgia anglers have complained about the state’s extremely short window to legally catch red snappers – one of the South Atlantic’s most sought-after saltwater fish.  That’s because the federal government has been worried that the fish’s population is too low.  But an effort from state officials (as well as those from the Carolinas and Florida) has convinced the Trump administration to lengthen the fishing window to a full month – all of July – during which extensive surveys will be taken to determine just how healthy the red snapper population is.  The move has Georgia anglers RISING…
