The ongoing saga of the MV Hondius cruise ship that had to be quarantined after passengers showed symptoms of the deadly hantavirus is touching down in Georgia, as two patients from the ship have been taken to Emory Hospital in Atlanta – renowned for its work on communicable diseases. Atlanta Beltline light rail back on the menu?
Many Atlantans were dismayed when Mayor Andre Dickens seemingly tabled the idea of light rail along the Atlanta Beltline, the city’s wildly popular and successful pedestrian path. After all, light rail was a core part of the loop’s original vision, meant to connect the city all around its (eventual) 22-mile loop.
