Republican leaders and others in Georgia’s political world are outraged that Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger (who is also running for governor) is denying State Election Board members access to election night reporting. “This is an unacceptable assault on transparency,” says state GOP Chairman Josh McKoon. “Republican and Democrat SEB members alike must have full access to observe every step of the tabulation and reporting process on Election Day and throughout election night. Atlanta Beltline light rail back on the menu?
Many Atlantans were dismayed when Mayor Andre Dickens seemingly tabled the idea of light rail along the Atlanta Beltline, the city’s wildly popular and successful pedestrian path. After all, light rail was a core part of the loop’s original vision, meant to connect the city all around its (eventual) 22-mile loop.
