A concern for host cities ahead of next month’s FIFA World Cup has been that hotel reservations have been coming in more slowly than expected. But they’re picking up – and Atlanta industry leaders say their city is doing better than most. A survey from the American Hotel & Lodging Association found that about half of Atlanta hoteliers said booking were “in line with or ahead of expectations,” the second-best of any host city. 213,000 hotel rooms are now booked for the 30-odd days where Atlanta will host matches – and the knockout round matches, including a semifinal, aren’t even set yet. WNBA embroiled in trans-athlete drama
Last Sunday a mother and daughter attended the Atlanta Dream/Indiana Fever basketball game at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena. With two minutes left in overtime the pair were ordered to cover their XX-XY chromosome shirts— and the censorship incident went viral. It’s obvious that left-wing, pro-trans leaders of the Women’s National Basketball Association are intent on suppressing the message that men and women are different and that biological men cannot become women. However, widespread public support exists for these statements of fact, and by trying to censor them the WNBA is actually causing these viral moments.
