With the first stage of the primary behind us and the June 16th runoff looming, Georgia's candidates for governor are rounding up as many endorsements as they can, particularly on the Republican side where turnout will be key for whichever candidate advances to the November general election.
Lt. Gov. Burt Jones, who finished first in the Republican primary by some five points, boasts the biggest endorsement of them all - that of President Donald Trump. Jones was a fixture at Trump's side when he last visited the state back in February, and the president hosted a tele-town hall for Jones earlier this month. Trump hasn't been concerned about wading into Republican primaries this year - and if contests in Texas and Kentucky are anything to go by, his preferred candidates tend to win.
