A rainy May (and now June) has gone a long way towards lightening Georgia’s serious drought, though it remains severe in some parts of the state. 24% of Georgia is still in “extreme drought,” down from 56% only a couple weeks ago. Questions linger over Atlanta City Hall investigation
An ongoing investigation into former Atlanta Municipal Clerk Foris Webb III is hitting roadblocks, as city employees are delaying or rejecting interviews by the inspector general. Webb received more than $900,000 in consulting fees from the city for his “work” on a referendum meant to block the city’s law enforcement training center, dubbed “Cop City.” That referendum got held up in court, never wound up doing anything, and the center was built, but Webb continued to cash a $35,000 check each month.
