Later today Atlanta will host its final World Cup match as Argentina takes on England in a highly-anticipated semifinal. It will mark the end of a frenetic month that saw hundreds of thousands of visitors, both for the city’s eight matches as well as its many fan festivals across the city, headlined by the official party in Centennial Olympic Park. The city showed off new developments in Centennial Yards and South Downtown, as MARTA and other infrastructure improvements were finished just in time for the influx of visitors. Norwood endorses Jackson
Atlanta City Councilwoman Mary Norwood has given her endorsement to Republican candidate for governor Rick Jackson, a move that’s not necessarily surprising, but is notable. Norwood lost a runoff for Atlanta mayor to Keisha Lance Bottoms back in 2017 by only 800 votes, showing her popularity in Atlanta, particularly up in Buckhead where there’s a large swathe of GOP and independent voters.
