Kemp warns state agencies to freeze spending

Gov. Brian Kemp’s eight years in office were the ‘good ol’ days’ for state agencies as they benefitted from the state’s massive surplus, which swelled to as much as $16 billion.  But as he prepares to leave office and turn the governor’s mansion over to either Republican Rick Jackson or Democrat Keisha Lance Bottoms, he’s telling agency heads to freeze spending levels as they prepare budget requests for next year, pointing to income tax cuts and potentially fewer federal tax dollars.  DRIFTING…
