One of the biggest legislative wins for the Georgia General Assembly this year was a sweeping literacy package that included funding for reading coaches in every elementary school. Now U.S. Congress is getting in on that effort, with U.S. Rep. Lucy McBath co-sponsoring the Reading Excellence and Achievement for Development Act. Georgia approves three-year bachelor’s degree
Georgia is joining a handful of other states in trying out a new three-year bachelor’s degree program meant to get students into the job market faster. The University System of Georgia’s Board of Regents has approved the Bachelor of Applied Science, which cuts down on electives and only requires 90 credit hours instead of the traditional 120.
