One of the biggest legislative wins for the Georgia General Assembly this year was a sweeping literacy package that included funding for reading coaches in every elementary school. Now U.S. Congress is getting in on that effort, with U.S. Rep. Lucy McBath co-sponsoring the Reading Excellence and Achievement for Development Act. Norwood endorses Jackson
Atlanta City Councilwoman Mary Norwood has given her endorsement to Republican candidate for governor Rick Jackson, a move that’s not necessarily surprising, but is notable. Norwood lost a runoff for Atlanta mayor to Keisha Lance Bottoms back in 2017 by only 800 votes, showing her popularity in Atlanta, particularly up in Buckhead where there’s a large swathe of GOP and independent voters.
