Georgians could be getting a break at the gas pumps after the Georgia Department of Agriculture (GDA) adopted the United States Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) National Fuel Waiver issued on August 20. According to Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Tyler Harper this action will help address fuel supply disruptions impacting refining capacity and energy distribution across the country and lower gas prices for Georgians.
Through September 15, 2026, the Georgia Department of Agriculture’s Fuel & Measures Division will align state-level enforcement with the federal waiver, allowing temporary flexibility on certain ethanol blending and volatility requirements to help increase fuel availability, prevent supply bottlenecks, and ease pressure on gas prices, Harper explained.
