The data center debate in Georgia is picking up with a call from U.S. Sen. Raphael Warnock to instate a statewide moratorium on their construction. Savannah already has its own 155-day moratorium, and other municipalities have considered doing the same. Meanwhile, Gov. Brian Kemp has emerged as a vocal supporter of data centers, and a massive OpenAI project in Effingham County was recently approved. Carr joins LSU football fight
In the South, college football is religion – and now it’s politics too. Members of the Southeastern Conference (SEC) are furious with LSU over its attempts to sign players already in the NFL to come back to college to play for the Tigers. On Wednesday, Attorney General Chris Carr, (presumably at the behest of some big names at UGA) urged the SEC to take “all measures available” against LSU.
