Gwinnett County District Attorney Patsy Austin-Gatson has filed a suit contesting House Bill 369, signed into law earlier this year, which makes local offices nonpartisan only in five core metro Atlanta counties. She joins DeKalb DA Sherry Boston, who filed a suit of her own, challenging the law’s constitutionality. Norwood endorses Jackson
Atlanta City Councilwoman Mary Norwood has given her endorsement to Republican candidate for governor Rick Jackson, a move that’s not necessarily surprising, but is notable. Norwood lost a runoff for Atlanta mayor to Keisha Lance Bottoms back in 2017 by only 800 votes, showing her popularity in Atlanta, particularly up in Buckhead where there’s a large swathe of GOP and independent voters.
